Georges published his first computer program at 12 years old while he was growing up in Haiti. He spent the next 5 years freelancing in various languages until the 2010 Haitian Earthquake hit the country with devastating effects after which he moved to South Florida to pursue a degree in Computer Science at the University of Miami thanks to a merit-based scholarship. In 2011, while still a student, he started working as a software engineer (Ruby / Rails) for Disaster Solutions -- a Disaster Relief organization that was using technology to aid in relief efforts. From the work on relief efforts was born Virtual Badge.
